Taliban militants take control of the strategic Kayhan Valley in Baghlan province
The Taliban militants have taken control of the strategic Kayhan Valley in Doshi district in Baghlan.

The local officials confirmed that the Taliban militants captured Kayhan Valley on Monday night.
The officials further added that scores of Taliban militants poured into Kayhan Valley after launching an offensive from Do Aab district of Samangan.
Furthermore, the officials said the Taliban militants captured Kayhan Valley without any clash.
Meanwhile, the local officials warn the Taliban militants could pose serious threats to other districts if they are not driven out of Kayhan Valley.
In the meantime, the local security officials deny the presence of Taliban militants in Kayhan Valley. They emphasize that the security forces are in full control of the Valley.
The security situation in Baghlan has deteriorated during the recent years.
Taliban militants are active in some districts of the province and often conduct terrorist related activities.
Meanwhile, the Afghan forces routinely conduct counter-terrorism operations against the anti-government armed groups in this province
