Non-differentiation strategy needed in fight against terror, Afghan president tells Russia
Terrorism is not only a threat to Afghanistan, but also to the region and the world and in order to jointly fight against the menace, there is need for a single and non-differentiation strategy, President Ashraf Ghani said Tuesday.

AVA- The president made the remarks while meeting with the visiting Russia’s top security adviser, Nikolai Patrushev, in Kabul.

The sides discussed strengthening of bilateral ties, counter-terrorism, regional, economic and transit cooperation.

Ghani said that a stable and developed Afghanistan would benefit countries in the region, adding Afghanistan’s relations with Russia are based on shared interests.

He said that Russia’s sharing of expertise and intelligence in the area of fight against terrorism is valuable.

For his part, the Russian official said that his country wants a stable Afghanistan and is ready to any type of cooperation in the area of fight against terrorism in the country.

He said that Moscow wants to expand ties and economic cooperation with Afghanistan for better security.

The visit by the top Russian official comes amid increasing allegations that Moscow supports Taliban apparently to counter Islamic State group. Moscow, however, denies the allegations.
