The officers of the Gabonese army, who seized power in a coup d'état on Wednesday, have unanimously nominated General Brice Oligo Nguema as the head of the transitional government in this West African country.

The military council of Niger, which has taken power through a coup in this country, announced the formation of a transitional government cabinet consisting of 20 ministers.

Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, the head of Afghanistan's Islamic Party, called for a joint meeting between representatives of influential Afghan parties and representatives of the ruling body in a 7-point proposal to the Islamic Emirate to establish a transitional government.
