The security officials of Badakhshan say that during the last three months, they have cleared 40,000 acres of land from poppies in the center and districts of this province.

The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s foreign ministry on Thursday said poppy cultivation has been slashed and almost completely eradicated.

2,183 acres of poppy fields across nine provinces have been destroyed in the ongoing campaign to rid the country of poppies. The Ministry of Interior said.

Anti-narcotics police have destroyed 800 acres of poppy fields in several operations across six provinces.The Ministry of Interior Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) said.

A campaign to destroy poppy fields has started in Herat that will be conducted in each village in the province by Islamic Emirate forces. Local officials said.

Around 2,000 hectares of poppy fields have been cleared in Herat province.

The Taliban targeted the police on Tuesday in Afghanistan's eastern Laghman province, killing four police officers, including a district police chief, provincial officials said.
