95 percent reduction in measles cases was reported among children in Badakhshan. Public Health Directorate of this province announced.

On Saturday a nationwide measles vaccination campaign rolled out and hopes to reach at least seven million children.The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s (IEA) Ministry of Public Health said.

According to local sources in Kandahar province, the outbreak of measles in this province has killed 29 children in the last three months.

Officials of Badakhshan Provincial Hospital say that during the past three months, nearly 4,000 children have been infected with measles, and 11 of them have died.
