Hours after Iran’s missile attack on American bases in Iraq, Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami says Tehran’s next responses to the US assassination of a top Iranian general will be proportionate to what Washington will do. 

Iranian Foreign Minister says Iran informed the Iraqi government of its retaliatory attack on US bases, reaffirming Tehran’s respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Arab country.

Senior Iranian commander Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani, who was assassinated by the US in Iraq, has been laid to rest in his hometown Kerman, shortly after Iran’s Armed Forces launched retaliatory missile strikes on American bases in Iraq.

At least 30 rockets have struck the Al-Asad airbase in western Iraq, which houses US troops, and there are unconfirmed reports of up to 30 missiles. The incident comes as the US and Iran stand on the brink of open war.
