Leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky has left India after rejecting the Nigerian government's "obstruction" of his medical treatment.

The daughter of Nigeria’s detained prominent cleric Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky has warned about the government’s recent ban on the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), saying it could worsen the crackdown on the members of the group and ignite a new conflict in the West African nation.

Supporters of senior Nigerian cleric Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky say they have obtained information that four of his followers have died in government custody because of a lack of medical treatment of their gunshot wounds, raising further concerns about a government crackdown on the sheikh’s Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN).
