Afghans fear that Tuesday’s disputed election results might throw the country back into turmoil, even after peace talks between the US and the Taliban reached a breakthrough this week.

President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, First Vice President Gen. Abdul Rashid Dostum, and the Intelligence Chief Masoom Stanikzai held a joint security meeting to discuss the current situation of the country, including the recent upheavals in northern Faryab province.
