Sheikh Mashal Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah was sworn in as the new Emir of Kuwait in the country's parliament.

After the official announcement of the death of Nawaf Al-Ahmad Jaber Al-Sabah, the Emir of Kuwait at the age of 86, according to the country's constitution, Mashal Al-Ahmad will be the new Emir of Kuwait, who is 83 years old.

Sheikh Nawaf Ahmad Jaber al-Sabah, the 16th emir since the beginning of al-Sabah's rule in Kuwait and the sixth emir since the country's independence, died today (Saturday).
