A car bomb explosion at a checkpoint near the parliament in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, has left at least four people dead and 10 others injured, police say.

Al-Shabab gunmen and a car bomber have struck a religious center in central Somalia, killing a cleric and at least 14 of his followers, a police officer says.
