The Timur Shah Durrani mausoleum officially inaugurated
Kabul, (AVA)- President Karzai accompanied by prince Karim Agha Khan officially inaugurated the Timur Shah Durrani mausoleum yesterday.

The ceremony was attended by president Karzai, prince Karim Agha Khan, the minister of culture and information, Dr. Seyyed Makhdum Rahin and the Kabul mayor, Mohammad Yunus Nu Andish and Maiwandi explained the process of the mausoleum reconstruction.

The mausoleum was damaged during the war period but the building reconstruction was commenced in 2002 by the ministry of culture and information and Agha Khan Development Network.

Calling Timur Shah as one of the eminent characters in Afghanistan history, president Karzai said Timur Shah is the founding father of Kabul as Afghanistan capital.

President appreciated Karim Agha Khan for implementing the reconstruction projects of the Timur Shah mausoleum, the garden of Babur, Herat Qila Ikhtiaruddin and other public health, cultural and educational projects.

The minister of culture and information, Dr. Seyyed Makhdum Rahin said Timur Shah Mausoleum reconstruction is done due to keeping the architecture of Timur Shah period alive.

Thanking the Afghaistan government for paving the way for mausoleum reconstruction, Karim Agha Khan said he is pleased that he can implement development and reconstruction projects in Afghanistan.

He thanked the countries such as the U.S, Britain, Germany and Norway for their cooperation in mausoleum reconstruction.
