Iran pioneering constructive dialogue among religions
The Leader of the Russian Orthodox Church Patriarch Kirill said Iran was the forerunner of constructive dialogues among religions in the world.

The senior Orthodox official made the remark here Friday during a meeting with an Iranian delegation headed by Secretary General of the World Organization of Proximity among Religions Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri which took place in the Kremlin church.

The patriarch hailed Iran's initiative and said the dialogue between Muslim and the Orthodox Church scholars, going on for years, now has been quite effective.

He also dismissed the Islamophobia as "illogical" and "unacceptable" and regretted that certain people in the West tried to promote the phenomena.

Ayatollah Taskhiri said the support the Orthodox Church is showing to Muslims in Russia is a sign of the comprehensive look the body has to different issues.

He further hailed the positive stand of the Russian Orthodox Church leaders on situation in Syria and stressed the need for compiling human rights charter based on Islamic and Christian views.

The Iranian delegation is in Moscow to take part in the 8th round of talks between Islam and the Orthodox Church which focuses on the issue of "religion and the human rights".
