Iran supports win-win, positive results in talks with P5+1

“Unfortunately, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the P5+1 (Britain, China, France, Russia and the US plus Germany) and the UN have tainted Iran's nuclear case with political issues and we are witnessing a completely political approach towards our country,” Member of Iran’s Majlis (Parliament) National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Parviz Sorouri said.

“We hope for the P5+1 to have realized that their political measures have had no effect and that their actions have strengthened the resolve of the Iranian people,” Sorouri added.

If the P5+1 adopts an interactional approach, as opposed to its confrontational approach in the past, the interests of both parties will be protected, he further said.

Iran and the P5+1 have held two rounds of multifaceted talks, one in Geneva in December 2010 and another in the Turkish city of Istanbul in January 2011.

Iran's Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi announced on March 28 that the upcoming talks between the Islamic Republic and the P5+1 would be held on April 13, although he did not confirm the venue of the negotiations.

While Tehran says it is ready to continue the talks based on common grounds, it has stressed that it will not give up any of its rights.
