Yaalon: What is happening in Gaza is ethnic cleansing

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: Ma'ariv newspaper announced in a news report in this regard that after Moshe Boggi Yaalon, the former Israeli Minister of War, emphasized in an interview with the Democratic TV channel that Israel is carrying out ethnic cleansing in the Gaza Strip, he created a controversy and reiterated his positions again.

 

He emphasized last Saturday that we are moving towards occupation, territorial annexation and ethnic cleansing. You look at the northern part of the Gaza Strip, see the forced displacement of people there, whatever interpretation and name you want to give to those actions, this is ethnic cleansing.

 

Ya'alon repeated his words today in an interview with the Israeli National Radio and Television Channel (B), saying: "I am speaking on behalf of the commanders who are currently fighting in the northern Gaza Strip, where we are committing war crimes."

He added: "I stand by my word and the statements I have made. The Israeli army soldiers are risking their lives there, but they will definitely be prosecuted by criminal courts."

 

In this regard, a number of prominent figures and activists of protest programs against the war in the Gaza Strip also supported Ya'alon's statements.

 

Moshe Reidman, a columnist for the Globes News website, also endorsed Israel's crimes in the Gaza Strip on his personal page on social media, writing:

 

A group of hypocrites are trying to show that their hands are clean (of the crimes committed in Gaza), while everyone knows that the Israeli army, at the request of the Netanyahu cabinet and its supporters, is carrying out ethnic cleansing in the Gaza Strip. This is ethnic cleansing in the full sense, to make a region racially homogeneous. This is done through the use of force and terror to drive people of a particular ethnic group or religion away from a particular region. The Palestinians are an ethnic group that the Israeli cabinet is seeking to expel from the northern Gaza Strip. It is as simple and clear as that. This is definitely a mistake that is being made from the top of the power pyramid, and Netanyahu and his entourage are leading us in this direction.
