Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in his first interview after receiving the vote of confidence from the parliament of this country, emphasized that Tehran seeks to manage tensions with Washington and restore relations with European countries based on a series of conditions.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) _ Tehran: Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran's new foreign minister, in his first exclusive interview after receiving a vote of confidence from Iran's parliament, told Kyodo News: Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs is a decisive step towards lifting economic sanctions. Iran and its return to normal trade relations in the international community will seek to manage tensions with Washington and restore relations with European countries, but on the condition that they abandon their "hostile approach" and try to revive the 2015 nuclear agreement and lift sanctions.
 
Araghchi noted: In my foreign policy speech in the Islamic Council, I emphasized the sensitive goal of lifting sanctions, especially unilateral sanctions, through serious, focused and timed negotiations, while respecting the fundamental principles of the nation.
 
He, who was once Iran's ambassador to Japan, told this Japanese media that his ministry will strengthen the relations between Tehran and Tokyo in all dimensions based on a comprehensive road map built on the basis of his in-depth knowledge of Japan. Joint handling of the regional crisis will cooperate.
 
It should be mentioned that Araghchi is known as a veteran Iranian diplomat who also served as an ambassador in Finland and Estonia.
 
As Iran's deputy foreign minister and chief negotiator, he played a vital role in finalizing the 2015 nuclear deal. In 2021, then-Iranian President Hassan Rouhani appointed him as Iran's chief negotiator to run talks aimed at reviving the nuclear deal, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.
 
Three days ago, Mr. Araghchi, while explaining his plans in the Islamic Council of Iran, emphasized on expanding relations with neighboring countries and the region.
 
It should be mentioned that yesterday, Mr. Araghchi along with all the ministers proposed by Masoud Bizikian succeeded in winning the vote of the Islamic Council of Iran.
