Uzbekistan, Afghanistan sign 35 agreements worth $2.5 billion
The Deputy Prime Minister's Economic Department announced that 35 agreements worth $2.5 billion have been signed between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The press office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs said in a statement that 35 agreements were signed with Uzbek Prime Minister Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund and Uzbek Prime Minister Abdullah Arifov at the Afghanistan International Exhibition Centre. 
 
The signing ceremony was attended by officials and representatives of the private sector of both countries.
 
The agreements included 12 investment agreements worth $1.4 billion and 23 trade agreements worth $1.1 billion, which strengthened economic relations between the two countries and significantly increased the level of trade.
 
Earlier, the Ministry of Industry and Trade announced that it had signed five agreements in the fields of trade and investment with the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan.
 
The Afghanistan-Uzbekistan trade fair was inaugurated by Abdul Ghani Baradar and Abdullah Arifov in Kabul yesterday, the office of the deputy prime minister's economic department also said.
 
The trade fair will feature Uzbek cars, tractors and various industrial products, which will last for three days, the office added.
 
The Prime Minister of Uzbekistan arrived in Kabul yesterday morning at the head of a delegation and was welcomed by senior officials of the Islamic Emirate.
 
The purpose of his visit was to participate in a bilateral meeting and trade relations between the two countries and to open an exhibition of Uzbek products and products in Kabul.
