Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: Some Arab sources reported that the assassination of the Hamas commander failed and the transfer of Mohammed al-Dif, the commander of the battalions of Ezz al-Din Qassam, the military branch of the Hamas movement, to an underground tunnel.
The Arab officials told the Hebrew network "i24 NEWS" that al-Dif was not found in Nasser Hospital, nor in the medical complex in Gaza where the wounded were taken, nor even in the school affiliated with the ANRWA agency.
The sources emphasized that al-Daif was taken to an underground tunnel.
The Hebrew media quoted the sources as saying that al-Dif's deputy, Marwan Isa, was also taken to a tunnel after being assassinated by the Israeli army in March.
The Israeli military claimed on Saturday that al-Dif and Rafi Salama, the commander of the Khan Younis brigade in the Hamas movement, were the targets of an airstrike against the Wawasi area in Khan Younis.
The army also stressed that it had long planned to carry out the attack and assassinate the leaders of al-Qassam, based on "accurate data" from the Shin Bat intelligence service and its southern command.
Since then, all Israeli security agencies have been investigating whether Saturday's assassination was a success.
"There is important evidence that the assassination attempt was successful, but I will never say anything about it until we have more information," Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, according to ISNAF. »
Hamas, on the other hand, denied that al-Dif was killed in the attack, saying he was alive and listening to the Israeli prime minister's words and laughing at his lies.
Saturday's attack by the Israeli occupation forces came as Tel Aviv had previously declared it a safe zone in the southern Gaza Strip.
The attack killed 90 Palestinians, including women and children.
