Holding a joint military exercise between China and Russia in the South China Sea
China and Russia's naval exercise in the South China Sea began with live ammunition while the tensions between these two countries and the West have intensified recently.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): "Global Times" newspaper reported that China and Russia's naval exercises in the South China Sea have started with live ammunition while the two countries have improved military and commercial relations in recent years after the US sanctions. have strengthened themselves.

The two countries are going to deploy at least three ships in this 3-day exercise. This exercise is being held following the implementation of a joint naval patrol between Russia and China in the North Pacific Ocean.

According to Reuters news agency, China's South Sea Fleet announced in a report that the exercise will include live ammunition drills, detection and early warning, search and rescue, and air defense.

According to Isna, "Wang Guangzheng" from the Southern Command of the Chinese Navy said: "The joint patrol between China and Russia has promoted the practical and deep cooperation between these sides in various directions and fields."

He continued: "This exercise effectively strengthens the capabilities of the two sides in joint response to maritime security threats."

The Chinese Navy also announced in a statement that the presence of these ships is from Zhanjiang port in Guangdong province located in southern China.

China claims to control almost the entire South China Sea.

China and Russia announced their "no-holds-barred" partnership in 2022 when Russian President Vladimir Putin visited Beijing days before sending thousands of troops to Ukraine. China has not yet condemned the attack and has increased its exports to Russia, helping Moscow to keep its economy afloat. This "unrestricted" agreement is a two-way trade that will result in a trade volume of 240.1 billion dollars in 2023 for the two countries.

The joint exercise comes just days after NATO allies called Beijing the "decisive enabler" of the war in Ukraine. These joint maneuvers have been held in the wake of China's recent tensions with NATO allies in the past days.

A few days ago, Mircea Joana, Deputy Secretary General of NATO, said that China is seen as the direct cause of the war between Russia and Ukraine. In an interview with Euronews, he described China as "Russia's partner" and said that this country is "a threat to NATO security".
