The request of the Red Crescent Society from Iran to help the flood victims of Baghlan/ Iran

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Tehran: Razia Alishondi, the deputy of international affairs and humanitarian rights of the Red Crescent Society of Iran has stated: Following the flood in Afghanistan, especially in Baghlan Province, which led to the destruction of houses, people were killed, injured and missing. A large number of people of that country have died, Maulvi Matiul Haq Khals, the head of the Afghan Red Crescent Society, has requested the Iranian Red Crescent to send humanitarian aid to the people affected by the accident in a letter.

According to IRNA, he added: The Red Crescent Society of Iran will send its humanitarian relief cargo, which includes biological, food and health items, to help the flood victims of that country, and if needed, it will also send medical and relief teams to carry out humanitarian operations. 

It should be mentioned that the recent floods in the country, in addition to huge financial losses, also killed hundreds of people. According to the latest statistics from Baghlan province, 316 people have lost their lives due to the recent floods in this province alone.

This is despite the fact that last year, following the 6.5 magnitude earthquake in "Qarabagh, Zindajan and Tirpol" areas in the north of Herat province, in which about 2 thousand people died; The Islamic Republic of Iran was the first country to help the earthquake victims.
