Afghan Voice Agency (Ava) - Tehran: According to Iranian media, the construction of the Sirik nuclear power plant in Hormozgan province/province, in the south of Iran, was started by the order of the president of this country and in the presence of the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran.
Seyed Ebrahim Raisi, the president of the Islamic Republic of Iran, said in a video conference with the site of the start of the construction of the nuclear power plant in Sirak district: "Adding knowledge to capabilities has led to progress and development everywhere in Iran."
Raisi added: The construction of the nuclear power plant in Sirik is the biggest project that will be implemented under the supervision of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran.
The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran stated that the 5,000 megawatt Sirk nuclear power plant can be considered as an infrastructure for Iran's economy and development, and emphasized that this power plant should be put into operation as soon as possible by local workers, engineers and activists in this area.
According to Iran Press, Mohammad Eslami, head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, also said: "The construction of the Sirk nuclear power plant is one of the defined plans and emphasized by all officials and the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution."
Nasser Sharif Lu, CEO of Sirik Nuclear Power Plant, also considered not using oil and not producing greenhouse gas as important features of the nuclear power plant and said: With the construction of Sirik Nuclear Power Plant, the annual consumption of 36 million barrels of oil in Iran will be avoided.
It should be mentioned that now Bushehr nuclear power plant in Iran with the capacity of producing about 1000 megawatts of electricity is among the active power plants in this country.
