Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Misbahuddin Mostain, the head of information and public awareness of the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock, said this today (Tuesday, January 16) in an interview with AVA reporter.
According to him, with the support of the Food and Agriculture Department of the United Nations, the Department of Agriculture, Maidan Wardak Province and the technical cooperation of the Vocational Education and Rehabilitation Institute, 3,700 deserving farmers in four districts including the center of this province, modified wheat seeds and chemical fertilizers have been distributed.
He added that these aids were distributed to the farmers in the presence of Wardak Maidan Agriculture Department, the representative of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Department, officials of the Vocational Education and Rehabilitation Institute, and a number of local officials.
The head of information and public awareness of the Ministry of Agriculture says that 500 farmers in Wardak Maidan province center, 800 farmers in Behsud Markazi district, 1500 farmers in Seyed Abad district and 900 farmers in Chek district have benefited from this assistance.
According to his words, the mentioned peasants were identified as needy according to the conducted investigations, and in addition to the aid, they were also given the necessary instructions in the field of cultivation.
He also added that 50 kilos of modified wheat seeds, 50 kilos of black chemical fertilizers and 50 kilos of white chemical fertilizers have been distributed to each farmer.
He stated that the purpose of distributing these aids is to support the poor farmers and increase their income by increasing their yields.
Earlier, the Food and Agriculture Department of the United Nations had distributed modified wheat seeds and chemical fertilizers in a number of provinces of the country.
