Afghan, Turkmen Ministers Seek Expansion of Trade Ties
Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce, held a productive meeting on Saturday with Khawaja Azov, the Turkmenistan ambassador to Kabul to strengthening trade ties between two countries.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)_Monitoring, During the meeting, both sides expressed their commitment to boost Afghanistan’s exports to Turkmenistan and discussed strategies to improve the trade balance between the two nations. Of particular interest was Turkmenistan’s keenness to import Afghan marble, presenting a lucrative opportunity for Afghanistan’s marble industry.
 
The Ministry of Industry and Commerce highlighted the significance of establishing a roadmap for expanding trade cooperation.
 
The roadmap would encompass initiatives to streamline trade procedures, remove barriers, and enhance the facilitation of visa issuance for Afghan traders, thus promoting smoother cross-border business activities.
 
An integral part of the discussions included plans to organize an exhibition in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan, to showcase Afghan products.
 
The exhibition, set to take place in the near future, aims to create a platform for Afghan businesses to showcase their goods and establish connections with Turkmenistan’s market.
 
Furthermore, both sides agreed to hold bilateral trade meetings, facilitating direct interaction between traders from Afghanistan and Turkmenistan.
