The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute wrote that this Russian document shows that the Moscow government "will have a firm commitment" to the continuation of the war in Ukraine, which has lasted for more than 650 days.
On the other hand, despite the economic challenges facing Russia, the budget of the "National Economy" sector, while it was equal to 14% of the total budget in 2023, will decrease to 11% in 2024.
Also, the share of important social budgets has decreased, including the budget of the housing sector from 2.8% of the total budget in 2023 to 2.2% in 2024, the budget of the education sector from 4.8% in 2023 to 4.2% in 2024, and the budget of the health care sector from 5.2% percent in 2023 will decrease to 4.4 percent of Russia's total budget in 2024.
Dan Smith, the director of this institute, said: "After the significant increase in the military budget in 2024, Russia has planned to reduce the military budget in 2025 and 2026.
