The country's currency has not reached final stability/ the price of raw materials is gradually decreasing

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Although the value of the dollar has decreased by more than 30% against the Afghani in the past few months; But the spokesperson of the Ministry of Economy says that the value of the Afghani will increase more than this.

 

On Tuesday (November 22), the spokesman of the Ministry of Economy, Abdul Rahman Habib, in an interview with AVA reporter, emphasized: "So far, the value of the country's monetary unit has not reached the final and central stability, and if some challenges are resolved, the value of the Afghani will increase even more."

 

Habib added that based on the strategic plan of the government and solving the challenges, the Afghani will become more valuable against foreign currencies and finally it will be considered stable.

 

Based on his statements; Afghanistan is still oppressively under Western sanctions, and a large part of the country's foreign exchange reserves has been frozen by the United States.

 

He also said that money transfers through banks are also challenging, which has made traders face many problems.

 

Habib pointed out that if these challenges are removed, the value of the Afghani will increase even more.

 

Regarding the lack of effect of the increase in the value of the Afghani on the price of raw materials in the market, he said that the Islamic Emirate has not exerted any pressure on the market so far and is trying to reduce the prices in the market gradually and normally.

 

According to his words; Commenting on the category of economic stickiness; The prices will decrease with delay and over time and the market reaction will be favorable.

 

At the same time, Haseebullah Noori, the spokesperson of the Central Bank, in an interview with AVA reporter, stating that "the improvement of the banking sector and the stability of the Afghan value are among the priorities of the Central Bank", said that the value of the US dollar against the country's currency will decrease more than this value.

 

He added that they have been able to maintain and even increase the value of the "Afghan" currency against foreign currencies by adopting reasonable monetary policies pointed out that preventing dollar smuggling, popularizing the use of Afghani currency in transactions and dollar auctions are among the policies that this bank has undertaken. Also, the increase in the country's exports contributes to the increase in the value of the country's currency.

 

Haji Zirak, the spokesperson of Sarai Shahzadeh, the country's largest money market, also told AVA reporter that people are no longer interested in using foreign currencies like in the past and they convert most of their holdings into Afghanis.

 

He added that Afghani currently enjoys unprecedented stability and all transactions are made with Afghani based on the regulations and procedures of the government.

 

This is while the value of the dollar has fallen to less than 70 afghanis in recent days.
