Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)_Monitoring, Acting on a tip-off, the security forces raided a rented house and discovered a variety of munitions, including 18 pieces of rocket projectiles and thousands of bullets, the official added.
"We have discovered these munitions via intelligence sources from a rented house and the contraband includes 18 projectiles of rocket and 2,540 bullets for machine guns in Jawzjan," Wasal said.
Without giving more details, he added that the security forces won't allow anyone to keep or carry arms illegally.
Security forces also seized arms and ammunition including two pieces of AKM assault rifles in Zazai Aryub district of eastern Paktia province days ago.
The Afghan caretaker government has vowed to collect arms and ammunition from anyone outside security organs as part of efforts to stabilize law and order in the war-ravaged country.
