UN Security Council Fails to Find Resolution on Palestine-Israel Conflict
Amid the war between Israel and Gaz, the second meeting of the United Nations Security Council on the Palestine-Israel conflict ended without any resolution.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)_Monitoring, The meeting was held behind closed doors at the UN headquarters.

It was reported that Russia proposed a draft resolution on the conflict, which condemned violence against civilians and all terrorist acts and called for a humanitarian ceasefire, the release of hostages, access to humanitarian aid, and the safe evacuation of civilians in need.
The draft was circulated among the 15 members of the UNSC during the closed session.

However, some members were not interested in adopting the resolution, because it did not mention Hamas, and because Russia did not consult with other members before presenting its draft.

For a UN resolution to be adopted, it needs at least nine votes in favor and no veto from the United States, Britain, France, China, or Russia.

The draft was prepared at a time when many countries have urged Israel to stop its attack on northern Gaza, where more than a million civilians have defied the regime’s order to leave their homes.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that 1,900 civilians, including 614 children and 370 women, have been killed and 7,696 wounded in the Israeli bombardment so far.

Israel insists on destroying Hamas fighters and Hamas insists on destroying the occupying regime of Jerusalem.
