Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)_Monitoring, Built at a cost of 6 million U.S. dollars over some two years by a local businessman and started production recently with a capacity of producing 100 tonnes of tomato paste around the clock, the plant has hired 50 workers.
Farmers from Kandahar, Ghazni, Farah and adjoining provinces send their tomatoes to the plant, Mohammad said, adding that 50 persons have been directly employed while hundreds of others indirectly benefit from the enterprise.
He also called upon Afghan businessmen to invest in Afghanistan and contribute to rebuilding the war-torn country and creating jobs for its people.
