The advanced Russian Yak 130 training aircraft arrived in Iran
The Public Relations of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army announced today Saturday that it has received a number of advanced Yak 130 training aircraft in line with the country's arms contracts with Russia and in order to improve the training and combat capabilities of the Iranian Air Force.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Yak 130 aircraft have been added to the Air Force of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in line with Iran's arms contracts with Russia. These planes have now joined the Shahid Babaei Air Base of Isfahan Province.

According to Iranpress, the delivery of these modern airplanes was made according to the military and weapons agreements between Iran and Russia and shows Iran's determination to use the most advanced technologies and military equipment available in order to improve its defense and military power.

The Yak 130 aircraft can play an effective role in the Iranian Air Force with the ability to perform training flights and combat missions such as close air support. Basically, this aircraft is used to train pilots of the Flanker family, such as the Sukhoi 35. The presence of the Yak 130 will play an important role in localizing the training of pilots in Iran.

The presence of the Yak 130 is an important step for the Iranian army in the field of learning about modern military equipment and gaining experience in the maintenance of new military aircraft. At the same time, the use of this modern aircraft is considered an effective step in the direction of rebuilding and improving the operational capacity of the Air Force of this country.

Yak-130 training planes are used to train pilots who are going to fly the new generation fighters of the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force, such as the Sukhoi 35. In addition to the general training and combat capabilities, this training fighter has the ability to simulate the training characteristics of various fighters, including the 4++ generation and the 5th generation.

This advanced training jet, with avionics and other features similar to operational fighters, is used to provide efficient training in combat scenarios with reduced training costs compared to training with heavy combat aircraft.

Yak 130 is an advanced training-combat aircraft designed and produced by the Russian Yakulov company and is able to meet the training needs of Iranian Air Force pilots to learn and learn how to fly with advanced fighters. This aircraft was designed as a replacement for the L-39 training jet ordered by the Russian Army and provides flight capabilities with generation 4+ aircraft such as the Sukhoi 35 and generation 5 such as the Sukhoi 57.

The Yak 130 is a two-seater aircraft with an aluminum and composite body, which is capable of acting as a close ground support (CAS) fighter in addition to training missions. This aircraft is capable of carrying up to 3 tons of ammunition, and for this purpose, it has 10 weapons carrying positions under the fuselage, wings and wingtips. The Yak 130 does not have an internal 30 mm gun, but can carry an external 23 mm gun pod under its wing.

In addition, the Yak 130 can carry a variety of conventional and guided weapons, including 250 and 500 kg bombs, 80, 122 and 330 mm rockets, Kab 500 guided bombs, Kha 29 guided missiles, and two R73 thermal missiles for air combat. Also, this aircraft can carry two electronic warfare pods on both ends of the wings and external fuel tanks to increase the operational range. The Yak 130 has an OSA radar in its nose with the ability to track 8 targets and simultaneously capture two targets with a detection range of 60 km.

This radar also gives this aircraft the ability to engage with naval targets. In the field of navigation, this aircraft is equipped with GLONASS (for Russian versions) and GPS (for export versions) and Stiac130 positioning systems, and has a full glass (digital) cockpit. Both pilots have access to three 6" x 8" color liquid crystal displays.

Also, the cockpit is equipped with an audio warning system and internal and external communication, and the front cabin also has a head-up display (HUD). Designed for training purposes, the main mode is for a medium jet and the other two modes are light and heavy, which are used to simulate bombers or advanced fighters.

Also, this system increases the stability of the jet in different flight conditions. This adjustable system allows the customer to use this jet for training the flight of various eastern and western fighters and has a high impact in simulating the real flight conditions of various aircraft for better training. The Yak 130 advanced training jet is powered by two turbofan engines. Russian-Ukrainian uses AI 222-25.

Russia, which produced many parts of this engine, has been developing an upgraded domestic version named SM 100 since 2017. It does not matter which engine the jets delivered to Iran use, and Russia has the ability to support the parts of both models.
