Under the projects, local authorities constructed roads, cleaned 106 km of irrigation canals, 57 culverts and two dams, and built a retaining wall in the Rodat district of Nangarhar province, Bakhtar said.
War-ridden Afghanistan is vulnerable to earthquakes and floods, and the eastern provinces are among the most stricken regions that endure infrastructure damage from natural disasters.
