17 soldiers of the Niger army were killed near Mali
Niger's Ministry of Defense announced that 17 soldiers of Niger's army were killed yesterday following an attack near the country's border with Mali.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): According to Al-Mayadin Network, Niger's Ministry of Defense announced: At least 17 Niger soldiers were killed and 20 others were injured in an attack by armed men near the border with Mali.

Niger's Ministry of Defense considered these armed men to be "fundamentalist" elements and said: A unit of Niger's armed forces, which was moving between the two regions of "Boni" and "Torodi", fell victim to a terrorist ambush in the suburbs of Kotogo.

The ministry added: Six of the wounded are in serious condition, and all the dead and wounded have been transferred to Niamey, the capital of Niger.

No person or group has yet claimed responsibility for this attack.

Meanwhile, the newspaper "Daily Trust" of Nigeria wrote: "Amid concerns about the military intervention of Equas forces in Niger, the West African ISIS terrorist group is moving part of its forces from Niger to the borders with Nigeria."

The newspaper quoted its sources as saying: "The best elements of ISIS in West Africa are moving from their bases in Sahel and Niger to Nigeria and have stopped in the Lake Chad region."

According to this source, this terrorist group is afraid of the possible military intervention of the Equas group in Niger and the closed borders of this country, and "its movements are considered a great danger for the entire region."

Following the military coup in Niger, which led to the overthrow of the country's president, Equas, threatened military intervention in the country.

This group has imposed sanctions against Niger's ruling military council and has asked them to return Mohammed Bazoum to his post.
