Cluster Bombs Use by US Still Threat People of Afghanistan

 

The TVP further said that with the continued presence of the US in Afghanistan, the number of these bombs, which are prohibited to be used, has been forgotten.

 

It is unknown how many of these bombs the US has used in Afghanistan during the 20 years of war in this country, while thousands of lesser bombs that come out of the inside of these bombs remain in Afghanistan.

 

TVP World has said that unexploded ordnance from cluster bombs is still causing injury and harm to people years after the equipment was sent to Afghanistan.

 

The TVP accused the US of testing all kinds of weapons and bombs during its 20 years of invasion of Afghanistan and developing these bombs, using mother of bombs for the first time in Nangarhar province. In the east of Afghanistan, the US experienced that it can create an artificial earthquake in addition to the destruction, and within a radius of a few kilometers, it can destroy places and harm all kinds of living beings.

 

One hundred and twenty countries of the world have signed the memorandum of understanding on the non-use of cluster bombs, but the United States, along with England and a few other countries, have refused to sign this memorandum.

 

The TVP said that according to the data of the Ministry of Martyrs and Disabled Affairs of Afghanistan, the names of 195,000 disabled citizens are currently registered in this country, most of whom are victims of drone attacks and incidents caused by cluster bomb explosions.

 

Owing to the danger of these weapons, US President Joe Biden recently issued permission to send cluster bombs to Ukraine for use in the war against Russia, which shows that the US continues to adhere to international agreements and the consequences of using cluster bombs.
