Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Tehran: The United Nations Refugee Agency on Friday, July 14, published a news release saying that the aid will be used in the field of vital programs for Afghans living in the Islamic Republic of Iran and Pakistan.
The organization also added that Iran and Pakistan host more than 8.2 million Afghans with different residency statuses, including 2.3 million registered refugees. Many of these people have abandoned their youth due to insecurity, instability and extreme poverty.
The United Nations Refugee Agency has stated that in Pakistan, this assistance will enable the organization to strengthen primary and secondary education, improve skills and vocational training, and improve access to general health care in host communities.
It is said in the statement that in Iran, this aid will strengthen continuous efforts to provide life-saving aid to Afghans and the host communities, including access to health care, education and necessary support.
This organization has pointed out that this new financial aid is in addition to the similar aid of 1 million Euros, which was allocated to this organization to help refugees in Iran in the year 2022.
On the other hand, Nicolas Roche, the French ambassador in Tehran, said: "By participating in the activities of the commissary in Iran and Pakistan for the second year in a row, we are committed to supporting the people of Afghanistan who have been expelled from their country after the revolutions of 2021." Also, supporting the resilience of the Iranian people through this aid is essential for me."
The Refugee Organization expressed its appreciation to the Islamic Republic of Iran and Pakistan for accepting Afghan refugees: "Despite limited resources and tense economic conditions, both countries, Iran and Pakistan, through their comprehensive policies towards refugees, have pledged to uphold the principles of hospitality. They have shown kindness and support. The international community should support Afghanistan's neighboring countries and enable them to maintain and develop their progressive policies.
The High Commissioner for Refugees further stated that this organization is committed to supporting Afghanistan's neighboring countries and supporting millions of Afghan women, men and children.
