The dust storm in Sistan province of Iran has affected half a million people
Dust storms in Iran's Sistan and Baluchistan province have affected "more than 500,000 people".
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The health officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran say that the "120-day winds" in the cities of Zabul, Nimroz, Hirmand, Zahak and Hamoun in Sistan and Baluchistan province have affected 530 thousand people since the beginning of the month of July.
 
According to the statements of Dr. Abbas Shahsoni, head of the Air Health and Climate Change Department of the Ministry of Public Health of Iran, as a result of these dust storms, more than 1,800 people have visited health centers, of which 88 people have been hospitalized.
 
According to this Iranian Ministry of Health official, the most common reasons for visiting health centers were "respiratory patients with 980 cases, cardiac patients with 542 cases, eye patients with 187 cases and traffic traumas with 129 cases".
 
Criticizing the way of dealing with the current situation in Sistan and Baluchistan province, Shahsuni said that as a result of the monsoon storms, electricity supply systems in this province were damaged and in addition to damage to some health infrastructure equipment, a number of emergency ambulances in this province were also out of operation.
 
About two weeks ago, the director general of the crisis headquarters of Sistan and Baluchistan province announced that the dust storm in this province sent 764 people to the hospital.
