At least 29 people were killed due to floods in northern India
Indian authorities say that at least 29 people have died due to floods in the north of the country after several days of continuous heavy monsoon rains.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Indian authorities have reported that the state of Himachal Pradesh has suffered the most.
 
According to the AFP news agency, floods in this state have destroyed bridges and roads.
 
It is said that around 300 people, mostly tourists, are stuck in an area of Himachal Pradesh and the government is trying to send helicopters to rescue them when the rain stops.
 
After Himachal Pradesh, floods in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh have also caused loss of lives and financial losses to people.
 
The India Meteorological Department has predicted more rain in the next few days.
 
Schools in New Delhi, the capital of India, were closed on Monday due to fear of flooding.
