Afghans file a complaint in the International War Crimes Court (ICC) against the crimes of NATO soldiers
Following the publication of the report of the killing of 80 Afghan citizens during the mission of British Special Forces between 2010 and 2013 in Helmand province, law experts say that NATO soldiers have committed war crimes during the 20 occupation of Afghanistan, because they killed civilians without any crime. They have killed for different reasons; for this reason, Afghans should file a complaint in the International War Crimes Court (ICC) against NATO soldiers who have committed the killing of innocent people in Afghanistan.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Based on the research of a British organization published in the Guardian newspaper, at least 80 Afghan citizens were killed during the mission of British Special Forces in Helmand between 2010 and 2013.
 
According to the Guardian report, this study was conducted by the lawyers defending the families of the victims of war crimes committed by the British soldiers in Helmand province, where only one British soldier killed 35 Afghan citizens during his six-month stay in Helmand.
 
Speaking to AVA, law expert Rashid Ahmadi said that NATO soldiers committed war crimes during the 20 occupation of Afghanistan, because they martyred civilians without any crime under various pretexts, therefore, Afghans should be prosecuted in the International Criminal Court. (ICC) file a complaint against NATO soldiers who have committed the killing of innocent people in Afghanistan.
 
Ahmadi also stressed that the leaders of the Islamic Emirate, in cooperation with the citizens, should complain to the International War Crimes Court (ICC), which has the authority to investigate and prosecute war crimes, so that those soldiers who have committed war crimes in Afghanistan.
 
Stating that NATO soldiers have committed many crimes in Afghanistan over the past 20 years, many of these crimes have remained secret, he added that an investigative commission aimed at investigating and seeking the truth about the war crimes of NATO soldiers in Afghanistan by non-governmental organizations The international side must be formed.
 
Ahmadi added that if the people of Afghanistan do not intervene in national and international organizations, the war crimes committed by NATO soldiers in the country will not be thoroughly investigated and compensation will not be paid to any victim's family.
 
In addition, Mohammad Arif Amiri, a law expert, said in a conversation with AVA that America, England and Australia, who consider themselves the main defenders of human rights in the world, have committed the most crimes in Afghanistan by the soldiers of these countries, but these countries have to go to court. Breaking criminals have not taken any effective action so far.
 
He added that the killing of Afghan civilians by US and NATO military forces in the last 20 years should be fully investigated, so that the killers of Afghan civilians are brought to justice and the rights of Afghans are defended.
 
Amiri pointed out: Although the United States respects human rights, it prevents the investigation of war crimes committed by its own soldiers and other NATO soldiers in Afghanistan.
 
According to official statistics, since the American invasion of Afghanistan in October 2001 to April 2020, about 47 thousand civilians were killed in Afghanistan due to conflicts.
 
Information about the massive civilian casualties in Afghanistan as a result of US and NATO military actions first became public in 2010, when WikiLeaks leaked more than 91,000 classified documents.
 
The documents showed that the killing of civilians was left unmentioned in US and NATO reports on their military actions in the country, sparking a wave of public outrage.
 
It can be mentioned that Human Rights Watch asked the Hague International Criminal Court to investigate the crimes committed by American forces and other NATO countries in the last 20 years war in Afghanistan.
