Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)_Monitoring, As a result of intelligence-based operations conducted by different teams of the CDT team in several parts of Punjab province, nine suspected affiliated with banned groups were arrested.
The arrested suspects belonged to the Banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Lashkar-i-Jhangvi and Daesh, according to Pakistan Counter-Terrorism Department.
The CTD also recovered four hand grenades, three prima cards, 42 bullets of a 30-bore pistol, a laptop, Afghani currency, and flags and stickers associated with the defunct organizations, the sources added.
Meanwhile, local police in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies conducted 145 search operations, resulting in the arrest of 11 suspects.
The crisis-hit Pakistan is suffering from instability and militancy over the past years. Since the banned TTP ended its unilateral ceasefire with the government of Pakistan in November last year, the group has intensified its attack throughout Pakistan.
Over the past nearly two years, the outlawed TTP militant fighters have conducted many brutal attacks across Pakistan, resulting in the death in injury of hundreds of security officials and ordinary citizens in Pakistan.
