Haqqani: Asked Afghan Migrants to Return to their Country
Acting of Refugees and Repatriations Minister, on “International Migrants Day”, called on Afghan migrants to return to their country.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)_Monitoring, Years of wars and foreign invasions caused Afghan to migrate to other countries mainly to Pakistan and Iran, said Khalil-ur- Rehman Haqqani, Acting Refugee Minister on the occasion of International Migrants Day.
 
The host countries have the responsibility to treat refugees well and deal with their problems in accordance with international laws and the Geneva Convention, Minister of Refugee added.
 
According to the Ministry, about 2 million Afghan refugees have returned to the country, and more than 2 million internally displaced people have been sent back to their regions.
 
Refugee Minister Haqqani asked the Afghan refugees living abroad to return to their country since security is maintained.
 
Meanwhile, Acting Prime Minister, Mawlavi Abdul Kabir, in a message, asked the countrymen who are living abroad to return home, since security has been maintained after the Islamic Emirate re-establishment in the country.
 
Every year, the world marks International Migrants Day, a day set aside to recognize the important contribution of migrants while highlighting the challenges they face.
