Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Monday (June 12) that Russia and Pakistan are working to form a "fairer" multipolar world order and "fight against terrorism".

According to "Anatolia" news agency, in a video message addressed to the people of Pakistan on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, Lavrov said that Russia treats Pakistan as an important security partner in the fight against terrorism and other security threats.

During the past few days, the officials of Iran, China and Pakistan held detailed discussions about the security situation in the region in a meeting in Beijing. The Chinese Foreign Ministry announced in a statement that China, Pakistan and Iran held their first trilateral meeting on counter-terrorism in Beijing on Wednesday.

The ministry announced that the three countries had "in-depth exchanges" on the regional situation of counter-terrorism and it was decided to hold the meeting regularly.

Continuing his message, Lavrov added: "In recent years, the two countries have seen a significant increase in cooperation in the commercial and economic sectors, and Russia is the main supplier of Pakistan's wheat."
