Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Coinciding with the unannounced visit of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to Kiev and meeting with Ukrainian authorities, a new military support package for this country was announced.
On Saturday, after meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Trudeau gave a 25-minute speech in the country's parliament and announced a new $500 million aid to Kyiv.
This is Trudeau's second trip to Ukraine since the start of Russian military operations in Ukraine in February last year, and he visited Ukraine for the first time in May 2022.
According to "Reuters" news agency, he said during the meeting with Zelensky in Kiev: "We will be by your side as long as it takes, as long as it takes."
A joint statement adopted after the talks between Trudeau and Zelenskiy said: "Canada supports Ukraine to become a member of NATO as soon as the conditions are right. Ukraine and Canada look forward to addressing these issues at the NATO Summit in Vilnius in July 2023."
During a speech in the Parliament of Ukraine, the Prime Minister of Canada, while condemning Russia's special military operation in the Donbas region, claimed: "Ukraine's resistance is for the future of all of us. You are the tip of the spear that determines the future of the 21st century."
Trudeau has arrived in Kyiv together with Canadian Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland, and as reported by the Globe and Mail, the Canadian delegation is going to stay in Ukraine for one day.
Canada and other Western countries are imposing unprecedented sanctions against Russia, and they are also pressuring other countries in all parts of the world, from India in Asia to Brazil in Latin America, to distance themselves from Russia and isolate this country.
By claiming that the Russian attack against his country is an act against the whole of Europe, the Zelenskyi government has received hundreds of billions of dollars in military aid from Western countries. America's aid to Ukraine alone has exceeded one hundred billion dollars, and some of the most advanced NATO equipment has gone to the battlefields with Russia; Leopard tanks and Patriot anti-aircraft systems are among these.
In spite of sending massive equipment from the western countries to Ukraine, many experts evaluate the possibility of this country winning the battle against the Russians as insignificant.
