Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): "Dmitry Medvedev", the vice-chairman of the Russian National Security Council, warned today (Wednesday, June 7, 2023) that the West's desperation to defeat Moscow could cost the life of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Medvedev said in a statement while referring to the desire of Ukraine and the West to wipe Russia off the face of the earth: "So now we have to focus [on these statements] and respond to them."
Since a few months ago, Ukraine has claimed that it plans to use tanks, armored vehicles and other weapons donated by the West to launch a counter-attack to recapture some of the lands that have been captured by Russia.
According to "Sputnik" news agency, he continued: "The enemy has promised a big counterattack for a long time and has started doing things. However, the Kyiv regime has no choice and must attack to justify the money and weapons it received.
The former Russian president explained that the counter-attack of the Ukrainian armed forces is not a surprise for Moscow: "Russia will stop the counter-attack against Ukraine and then start its attack to completely overthrow the Kiev regime."
While military experts say Ukraine's counteroffensive does not seem likely to change Russia's calculus in the war, Kiev officials claim the operation will deliver the victory needed to join NATO.
According to this report, Medvedev pointed to the beginning of the counterattack by the Ukrainians on several axes and emphasized: "The desperation and desperation of the West [to defeat Russia] can cost not only Zelensky's presidency, but also his life."
Earlier, he stated that the Ukrainian regime is a terrorist, and emphasized that the terrorists must be destroyed once and for all.
The Ministry of Defense of Russia had previously announced that the forces of the Ukrainian army have launched a large-scale operation, but they have not succeeded in breaking the Russian defense in the southern regions, and their operation has led to failure.
