Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Aid in Afghanistan (OCHA) tweeted today (Thursday, May 25, 2023) that "multiple shocks" have increased Afghanistan's health needs.
OCHA added: "This year, $449.9 million is needed to provide essential health care services to 15.6 million people."
This institution also added that the lack of investment in Afghanistan's vital health services sector will lead to an increase in deaths among the most vulnerable people.
OCHA has requested 4.6 billion dollars for humanitarian operations in Afghanistan this year.
According to OCHA, a small part of this budget has been provided so far.
According to this office, 28 million people in Afghanistan need humanitarian aid.
