Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The United Nations said in a report today (Friday, May 12) that these people were killed in March last year during the so-called "anti-jihadist" operation in the Mora region of that country.
"There are reasonable grounds to believe that at least 500 people, including about 20 women and 7 children, were executed by Mali armed forces and foreign military personnel after taking full control of the Mora region," the report said.
In addition to the statements of relatives and close friends of the victims, the accuracy of this report has been proven with documents and satellite images.
The witnesses of this incident said that military helicopters fired at the villagers.
According to them, the soldiers of that country also gathered people in the center of Mora and shot at those who tried to escape.
Mali is ruled by a military junta that was ousted by the president-elect in 2020 amid protests over its inability to push back the jihadists.
Since then, the junta has cut ties with France, a traditional ally, and brought in Russian agents and warplanes to aid its beleaguered armed forces.
Mali leaders believe that Russian forces are not mercenaries there; Rather, they are trainers who help the local forces of that country with equipment purchased from Russia.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin also said that Mali has the right to cooperate with private Russian companies.
