Pakistan Police: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa explosions were caused by power failure
The Pakistani police say that yesterday's deadly explosions in a counter-terrorism center in the northwest of the country, which killed and injured several people, were caused by an electrical short.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): One day after two deadly explosions in a counter-terrorism center in the northwest of Pakistan, the police of this country said that these explosions were caused by a power failure and not a terrorist attack.

The Associated Press reported that Pakistani police said in a statement on Tuesday, April 25, that an electronic short circuit caused the blasts.

Nasir Mahmood Sati, the commander of the Swat region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where the blasts took place, also denied any outside attack on the counter-terrorism center in Swat.

The Swat facility is where a military ammunition depot is kept. The pictures published from the scene of the incident show that a police station and the headquarters of the reserve police forces are also located there.

According to published information, 16 people, including 9 police officers, 2 civilians and 5 militants who were recently detained for investigation after being arrested, were killed as a result of two explosions in the Swat Anti-Terrorism Center yesterday.

Swat Valley is one of the former bases of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan. In 2007, after a large-scale military operation, the country's army announced the suppression of the militants there.
