A statement from the provincial Prison Department said that, based on a Decree of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Emirate, on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, as many as 47 prisoners have been released from jail of Herat.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)_Monitoring, “The released prisoners who had been prisoned on charges of various crimes, after completing 80 percent of their jail period have been released,” the statement quoted the Director of the provincial Jail Department Mawlavi Mohammad Nabi Khalil as saying.
The prisoners were released to respect the Eid ul-Fitr as the Islamic Emirate Leader ordered ahead of the religious festival.
The released prisoners have been advised not to disturb the order of families and societies and resolve their disputes through religious and legal consultations with the elders and religious scholars.
