Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Fox News has reported on Saturday (April 8) quoting Corey Mills that he prepared the impeachment draft of Austin due to the violation of his duties, and he has the support of his colleagues to impeach him.
He said: "I have already drafted impeachment materials for dereliction of duty. I feel that there should be accountability at the highest level. I hope we can have real accountability with future hearings and investigations. Your testimony may will prove or invalidate my beliefs in this matter."
In the hearing of the Armed Forces Committee of the US House of Representatives last week, he told the Minister of Defense that he should have resigned because of his failure in the withdrawal plan from Afghanistan.
In this meeting, Mills mentioned the closing of the Bagram Air Base and the suspension of commercial flights in Kabul as the key mistakes of the US during the departure.
The Republican representative has argued that many US military officers can be relieved of their duties because of the failures that have occurred in Afghanistan, and that Lloyd Austin should not be placed on a separate standard because of his position.
Meanwhile, Mr. Austin said in last week's Congress session that he does not regret the way he left Afghanistan.
