More than a hundred people have been killed and injured as a result of recent earthquakes and floods in Afghanistan
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Natural Disasters of the Islamic Emirate says that since the beginning of the Islamic Emirate, 21 people have been killed and more than 100 others have been injured due to floods, earthquakes and heavy rains in more than 30 provinces of the country.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Shafiullah Rahimi, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Natural Disasters, in an interview with AVA, said: According to the report of the Departments of Combating Natural Disasters of this Ministry, from 22nd March to April 6, 2023, there have been floods in more than 30 provinces of the country. As a result of the earthquake, flood and heavy rain, 21 people were killed and 102 people were injured.
 
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Natural Disasters has added that more than two and a half thousand houses have been partially and completely destroyed as a result of the natural disaster, as well as 827 animals have been destroyed.
 
According to his words, the government ministry in the affairs of handling accidents in cooperation with national and international institutions has distributed first aid to nearly 20 thousand affected families since the beginning and this process is ongoing.
 
The Ministry of Disaster Management has said that this ministry has specific plans for the management of natural disasters in the country in every season of the year.
 
The citizens of the country have suffered from natural events while the United Nations reports widespread famine and poverty in Afghanistan.
