Journalist: Non-interference of the government in the work of the media results in accurate and impartial information
After the publication of the Ministry of Information and Culture's newsletter stating that no government body, except the Media Violation Commission of this Ministry, has the right to interfere in the affairs of journalists and media; Journalists and media activists of the country welcome this decision and say that this action of the Ministry of Information and Culture will provide accurate information to the citizens.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: One of the journalists, Rumel Amiri, said in an interview with AVA that this action of the Ministry of Information and Culture will provide accurate and impartial information to the citizens, because the media is only accountable to a government institution.
 
He added that if this decision of the Ministry of Information and Culture is implemented, it will help in the direction of freedom of expression and more activities of the media.
 
Amiri added that no matter how much restrictions are removed from the work of the media and journalists by the Islamic Emirate, it will help accurate and impartial information and strengthen the domestic media.
 
He pointed out that the establishment of some restrictions on the media by the Islamic Emirate has caused citizens to follow foreign media to follow the news.
 
Rahmatullah Qadir, another media activist, said in an interview with AVA that this action of the Ministry of Information and Culture will help more in the direction of information and media work, provided that no restrictions are imposed on the work of media and journalists.
 
He expressed that the free activity of the media and the non-interference of the government in the work of the media and journalists will increase the credibility of the government among the countries of the world in the field of information.
 
Qadri emphasized that the media play an essential role in governance in all countries of the world, therefore the Islamic Emirate should not interfere in the work of the media for the sake of public awareness and good governance.
 
These statements are made while the Ministry of Information and Culture recently published a newsletter saying that the first meeting of the leadership of the Ministry of Information and Culture in 1402 was held under the chairmanship of Mullah Khairullah Khairkhowa, acting head of the ministry, with the presence of deputies, heads and some officials of the ministry.
 
It was also decided that all journalists of the country should be registered in the database of this ministry and journalist cards would be distributed to them.
