If US Speaker Meets Taiwan’s President, China Vows to ‘Fight Back’
If US House Speaker Kevin McCarthy meets Taiwan President during her planned transit through the United States China has threatened to “fight back decisively”.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)_Monitoring, The warning on Wednesday came as Tsai was set to leave for a trip to Guatemala and Belize, where she will travel through New York and California in the US.

While not officially confirmed, she is expected to meet McCarthy while in California, at the end of her 10-day journey.

China, which claims democratically-governed Taiwan as its own territory, has repeatedly warned US officials not to meet with Tsai, seeing it as support for the island’s desire to be seen as a separate country.

Beijing staged war games around Taiwan last August when then-Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi visited Taipei.

Taiwan’s armed forces have said they look forward to any Chinese action when Tsai is abroad.

The Taiwanese president is expected to deliver a March 30 speech in New York hosted by the Hudson Institute, a conservative American think tank, on her way to Latin America and then again at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in California on her return to Asia in April.
