In an interview with this American media, Volodymyr Zelensky said: "We are ready to see him (Xi Jinping) here (in Ukraine)."
Zelensky's invitation to Xi was made in a situation where the Chinese President met Russian President Vladimir Putin eight days ago during his trip to Moscow and discussed the relations between the two countries and international issues.
After traveling to Russia and some European countries, Wang Yi, the head of the Central Commission of the Chinese ruling party on foreign affairs, published a 12-point plan to resolve the Ukraine crisis on behalf of Beijing.
Wang Yi, who is the former foreign minister of China, is considered the country's most senior official in the field of foreign affairs.
According to this plan, all parties should show rationality and self-restraint, avoid inflaming tensions and taking measures to escalate conflicts and prevent the situation from getting out of control, and contact between Russia and Ukraine and resume direct talks and reduce tension gradually.
In this proposed document, China said that negotiation is the only solution to the crisis in Ukraine, and all efforts to resolve the crisis peacefully should be encouraged and supported. According to the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Beijing insists on paying attention to the legitimate security interests and concerns of all countries.
