Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Rahim Gol, the driver of one of the trucks, said in an interview with AVA: With the establishment of the Islamic Emirate, the security of the country's highways has improved compared to the past, so drivers can transport commercial goods without any fear. Transfer from one province to another province.
He added that before the establishment of the Islamic Emirate, armed men used to collect money from the drivers of trucks and passengers in different major parts of the country's roads under various pretexts.
Stating that the current problems of the drivers on the country's highways are only due to the breakdown of the roads, he asked the Islamic Emirate to take good plans for the reconstruction of the highways.
This driver emphasized that the narrow width, damaged roads and the lack of traffic signs in these routes are major factors in the occurrence of traffic accidents and wear and tear of the car, hence the need for government officials to pay more attention in this field.
Meanwhile, Farooq Mohammadi, the driver of one of the passenger cars on the Kabul-Balkh route, also said in an interview with Ava that there are no worries for drivers and passengers from the security point of view, because the security of this highway is provided by the forces of the Islamic Emirate.
He added that the citizens of the country can travel on the Kabul-Balkh road without any fear, because with the establishment of the Islamic Emirate, the armed men who were harassing passengers and drivers have been arrested.
Mohammadi had a tool: if the country's major highways are built in a standardized way, not only will there be many conveniences for drivers, but the rent of commercial property and passengers will be greatly reduced.
Also, the officials in the Ministry of Public Works say that they have made regular plans to build the country's major highways, and the construction of this highway will begin in the spring.
We tried to get the opinion of the Ministry of Interior regarding the security of the country's major highways, but we failed to make contact. Before this, the spokesman of the Ministry of Interior had told the media that good security measures have been taken to ensure the safety of the highways.
It should be remembered that before the establishment of the Islamic Emirate, the citizens of the south and north of the country repeatedly criticized the activities of robbers and armed men on the Kabul-Herat and Kabul-Balkh highways, but the government at that time did not pay any attention to the financial and life safety of the passengers. It did not have these routes.
Kabul-Herat and Kabul-Balkh highways are important transit highways that, in addition to connecting several provinces with the capital, also play an important role in transporting commercial goods to neighboring countries.
